First Conference Game Was Too Close For Comfort

Our first conference game ended with a victory but the score wasn’t how the game really went. The 1st quarter both teams were feeling each other out with it ending with a 1-1 tie. The 2nd quarter was much like the 1st, going into halftime tied up at 2-2. East finally figured out there game plan and took the lead never to look back again. We ended the 3rd quarter outscoring Jordan 4-1. ending the 3rd with East leading 6-3. Going into the 4th East had the momentum, all the Wildcats had to do was play the game like we did in the 3rd quarter. We drew a flag in the 4th and Jordan scored a goal, making it 6-4. East ended up scoring 2 more in the 4th making it 8-4. Feeling pretty comfortable at this point i think East let there guard down. Jordan scored one, then another and yet 1 more goal with less than 2 minutes left in the game. The score was now 8-7 East. Now the idea was to just get possession of the ball and to keep it. East did that and the clock went to :00. East was the victor in there first conference game 8-7 final. Way to go Cats!!!!

The Thrilla At East Chapel Hilla

I think the title of this story says it all. Cross town rivals squaring off to see who is the best team in Chapel Hill. The setting couldn’t have been any better for a game that lived up to all the hype. Chapel Hill Tigers opened up with the first goal of the game and neither team was up by more than 2 goals. East scored the next one while Chapel Hiil added one more to end the 1st quarter 1-2 Chapel Hill. The 2nd quarter went in favor of our Wildcats who outscored Chapel Hill 4-3 going into halftime all tied up at 5’s. Both teams determined to be the victor came out scrapping in the 3rd with neither team scoring ending the 3rd quarter still tied up 5-5. The 4th quarter was a battle from the first time they blew the whistle. The teams both had multiple possessions and both teams each scored 1 goal ending the game in a 6-6 tie. Here comes OT everyone. The first OT Chapel Hill HS had possession most of the time. Both teams had there chances to score but neither did with the first OT period going scoreless. The 2nd OT period was a short one with East Chapel Hill Senior Chris Cox scooping up the groundball and heading straight for the goal. He ran past a couple of people, then spun past one more and it was Cox and Hornik the goalie from Chapel Hill one on one. Cox made a fake a stuck it over Horniks left shoulder just 12 seconds into the 2nd OT. Game over East 7 and Chapel Hill 6 in double OT. Great game guys.
