Wildcat Victory After Spring Break

East Wildcat lacrosse jumped on a bus Tuesday afternoon and drove to Winston Salem to face RJ Reynolds. It was there first game after spring break and they came out looking good. Senior Captain Chris Cox had the first 3 goals of the game for East while Senior Captain Jordan Greeno not Green (haha) had the best game of his senior season netting 2 goals and 4 assists. Great job Jordan!!!! The 1st quarter was a defensive struggle with it ending 0-1 RJ Reynolds. The 2nd quarter is where Cox and Greeno had some chemistry going. Cox had 3 goals and Greeno had the 3 assists. Way to go guys. The game went to halftime East up 3-1. The 3rd quarter went back and forth with both teams scoring 2 goals each. 3rd quarter ended East up 5-3. East finally got some momentum going in the 4th putting 3 goals to Reynolds 1 with the game ending East 8 Reynolds 4. Senior Goal Keeper Vance Perkins was amazing in the cage as well (67%). He had some great 1 on 1 stuffs in the 3rd quarter to keep East in the lead.

East 8 Broughton 12. Our Best Overall Effort Yet

Even though the outcome wasn’t what we wanted, I think that this was our best effort yet. Our Wildcats never stopped playing this great game of lacrosse from the opening whistle. Playing with some players a little banged up East was always in this game. The 1st quarter ended with Broughton leading 3-2. The 2nd quarter was just as scrappy as the 1st unfortunatley a few to many transition goals for Broughton, East went into halftime down 4-7. Even though we were down on the scoreboard the captains and coaches of this team kept this team going and motivated them to not give up and they didn’t. The 3rd quarter was a scrappy one with both teams scoring a few goals ending the 3rd with East being down 6-10. Broughton being up by to many goals East just couldn’t catch up. Not to say that they didnt try. Our Wildcats kept up the pressure in the 4th and NEVER gave up. Both teams scored twice in the 4th and the game ended 8-12 Broughton. East scrapped throughout the entire game, keep your heads held high boys. This game is over, now just get ready for the next one. I, as a parent was very proud of all these boys for there attitude and effort.
